Zeattle Caravan to 10YOC Second Day
Clarkston, WA to Burley ID

We departed Clarkston, following US 12. As we crossed the Clearwater River, and joined US 95, there was a monument to the Nez Perce, and the Corps of Discovery that was begging to be photographed.

We followed along the Clearwater River for some distance before turning south up Lapwai Creek, and the climb to the Camas Prairie. It was busy driving time so the camera stayed parked for some time. It wasn't yet spring up on the Camas Prairie, so the ground and fields still had their winter coats on. I've never been up there before, and the size and wonder of the area was a surprise. The sky seemed to be right there in your hand, and the vistas were incredible.

Leaving the Camas Prairie, we descended into the Salmon River canyon, and followed the Salmon River for a considerable distance thru the mountains of Idaho. The road turned up along the Little Salmon River, where we found waterfalls and rapids.

Further up the highway, the valley opened up on both sides into Meadow Valley. The ground must have still be fairly cold, and the snowmelt still running across it. There was water EVERYWhere. It was a very beautiful place. I didn't see much after that, for an hour or so, as it was nap time. I woke up as we rejoined our friend the Snake River in Weiser.

Joining with I-84 shortly after Weiser, we followed the Snake River thru Idaho at a high rate, till we came to Burley, where we spent the night.
